Business Development Manager – Security Guarding (Construction Sector)
Location: Hertfordshire | Hybrid
Salary: To: Circa £50,000 (neg) + Commission + Car Allowance
Cavendish has been exclusively instructed to identify a driven and experienced Business Development Manager to join a growing security services company, with a focus on selling manned guarding solutions into the construction sector. This is a strategic role where you will take ownership of developing new business opportunities, building long-term client relationships, and positioning their services as a trusted partner to major construction and infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
Identify, target, and secure new business opportunities within the construction industry across [region/UK-wide].
Build and maintain a robust pipeline of prospects including Tier 1 and Tier 2 construction firms, developers, and principal contractors.
Deliver high-quality proposals and bids (if required), responding to RFPs and tenders in collaboration with operational and compliance teams.
Conduct client meetings, site visits, and presentations to promote the company’s security guarding services.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, competitor offerings, and key construction projects.
Develop long-term relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers in the sector.
Meet and exceed sales targets, revenue goals, and KPIs.
Work cross-functionally with operations and contract managers to ensure seamless client onboarding and service delivery.
Maintain accurate records and reports via the company CRM system.
Requirements
Proven track record in business development or sales, ideally within security guarding, manned services, or facilities management.
Strong understanding of the construction industry, including project lifecycles, procurement practices, and site requirements.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Comfortable travelling to client sites and construction locations as required.
A proactive, resilient, and commercially driven mindset.
Existing network within the construction or security sector is highly desirable.
Full UK driving licence.
