Pricing and commercial lead

Cavendish have been instructed on an exclusive basis to identify a Pricing and Commercial lead for one of our key clients.

The successful Pricing and commercial lead candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end ownership of the pricing cycle central to this role and the role-holder will be expected to impart commercial knowledge and guidance to achieve the most economically advantageous price point for the company and its customers. 

The candidate would be expected to design, maintain, or amend pricing and commercial models in collaboration with the business development and operational teams. 

Providing management and leadership to the Pricing Analyst, as well as significant leadership on pricing and commercial performance matters with operational managers, and clients on key accounts.

Working in proactive partnership with Senior Finance Business Partners to review pricing strategy against financial performance to identify areas for competitive advantage.

The successful candidate will:

Ability to read through a Tender document and pick out relevant information needed to build up a pricing model.
Demonstrate an ability to work and communicate with other members of staff Directors and current and potential clients.
Required to present their work to potential and existing clients to elucidate pricing models and to represent the business correctly.
To manage the pricing analyst providing training, guidance and support. Organising and managing the workflow for both. 
To design, manipulate, analyse and interpret pricing models. 
To work alongside the Bid & Sales lead using existing commercial models to build a price in excel and transferring that price from the internal company pricing model into the clients pricing model.
Compiling all relevant documents including pricing & pricing assumptions. Ensuring these are signed off and completed on time so that the bid team can submit a finished bid before the deadline given. 
Providing commercial analysis on recently obtained contracts, in addition to retenders to ensure pricing is completed accurately and providing the most commercial advantage to both the business and the client.

To ensure that you are aware of your duties and responsibilities for health and safety.

Monitor works for health and safety compliance and to report any concerns.

Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, PowerPoint and Excel (IF Formulas, Vlookups and such like) – preferably with a Microsoft Excel Proficiency course
An excellent standard of written English and the ability to write to client requirements
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to review their own work prior to official appraisal
Confident speaker, able to communicate effectively and confident to present to new and existing clients
An in depth understanding of commercial models and some economic principles 
Ability to lead & collaborate in a transformational manner and support operations managers and clients in the pricing challenges, in a deadline driven environment. 
An ability to demonstrate proactive and innovative thinking introducing this to the role.

Essential 
Minimum of 2-3 years working within a pricing team and/or manager of pricing team 

Desirable
University Degree in a business relevant subject
Worked within the service sector or similar environment.
Worked as a lead or manager.
